Sweet Baby Sylas

Congratulations to Lanse & Jaci Stephens on the arrival of their baby girl, Sylas Grace, born on August 14, 2018. She weighed in at 7# 7 oz and is absolutely beautiful.

When a picture of this quilt first popped up on my Facebook feed, I was immediately drawn to it. I had this love for elephants as a child, and with Sylas on the way, I knew I wanted to make one. The background is a "white on white" fabric, tossed with little tiny alphabet letters. Super Cute! The elements are appliqued and I hand embroidered a few details. My friend, Shirley Bradley, at Shirley's Sew Place, used her Cricut to cut out the letters instead of machine embroidering the name, and I'm really glad we did. She also did an amazing job with the quilting -- again! This quilt is backed with grey flannel, super soft, and usable!
